The concept that you-know-who was cursed by a crazed fan and turned into a bed, and the only way to break the curse is for a virgin named Gary to have sex on top of him, might sound absurd for the sake of absurdity. But EDDIE MURPHYBED is all about relationships and sex (and how those two things are perceived) in the modern era. It’s also about the relationship between Eddie Murphybed and Gary and how men can feel pressured to look at sex through the lens of toxic masculinity, and how they can find ways away from that viewpoint.
