Finger Guns is the kind of cop action hero who doesn’t play by anyone else’s rules and shoots first, asks questions later — a trope that, safe to say, hasn’t aged very well. In fact, he’s been fired several times before, but he always manages to redeem himself. Sort of. Well, he at least manages to get the real bad guy, who is always the corrupt Mayor McCheddar. And Mayor McCheddar always gets voted back into office. It’s a vicious cycle.
Think of this cartoon as, like, a prequel. We’d really like to explore FINGER GUNS as a cop whose kind isn’t wanted (or needed) anymore (or ever), and what a guy like him — you know, a hotheaded cop with guns where his index fingers should be — would do in (defunded) retirement.
